Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

$22-23/hr

Job Description

This position is responsible for the construction and dismantling of mock-up test chambers and miscellaneous construction associated with building modifications and company expansion.

Responsibilities

• Operate scissor lift, aerial lift, forklift, and other equipment.

• Read and interpret blueprints and measure steel accurately.

• Cut, bend, grind, and fabricate steel components.

• Perform torch cutting tasks.

• Execute stick welding in multiple positions.

• Construct test curtain walls from scratch.

• Weld, fabricate, and assemble structures at heights.

• Grind, fit, and assemble steel structures.

• Work with I Beams, square tubes, and steel angles.

• Operate overhead crane to position steel components.

Essential Skills

• Experience in stick welding in multiple positions on structural steel.

• Strong fabrication skills including grinding, torch cutting, and assembly of structural steel.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

• Proficient in using scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts.

• Comfortable working at heights.

• Strong measuring skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Blueprint reading and understanding fabrication processes.

• Experience with scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts.

Work Environment

Some work is performed in the shop involving welding and fabrication, while most work is done outside building the equipment in various weather conditions. The role regularly utilizes scissor lifts, cranes, and heavy equipment. Teams range from 6-15 people per job and frequently interact with other departments. The dress code includes safety toe boots, weld hood and shield, and weld gear. Gloves, weld tools, hard hat, and harness are provided by the company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
