Actalent Electronics Technician in York, Pennsylvania

Description:

What you will do

Perform engineering support activities including hands on construction and testing for the development of new or modified components or products. Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.

How you will do it

• Under direction and guidance of supervisor and senior technicians, provide technical support to and communication among the Prototype Build and Test team to assist in efficient execution of building and testing 120V control panel test fixtures.

• Design fabricate or arrange for fabrication and testing of parts, components and sub-systems

• Review and mark drawings to support drafting and design documents

• Coordinate between customers and other departments to design, build and test component systems

• Troubleshoot nonconforming systems and components for service, and make recommendations

• Provide limited technical guidance and assistance to operators as necessary to complete and coordinate activities

• Provide and exchange technical information to vendors, customers and inspectors for assigned products and components

• Follow codes and procedures related to job

• Communicate technical information in written and verbal in a clear and precise manner

• Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards

Skills & Qualifications:

What we look for

• AS degree in engineering science (EE, EET preferred) and a minimum of 3 years direct work experience with electronic instrumentation, including DVMs is preferred. Other relevant education, or a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

• Experience working with 120V circuits

• Experience troubleshooting basic electronic circuits

• Experience using various hand tools for fabrication of electronic/power assemblies and subassemblies

• Experience using various hand crimp tools for fabrication of wire harnesses is preferred

• Experience soldering and removing both thru-hole and surface mount components at PCB level

• A strong ability to multi-task is necessary

• Ability to interact efficiently and cooperatively within technical role with engineers and technicians

• Able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven work environment; possess the agility/adaptability to quickly move from one task to another when required

• Comfortable using in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
