Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania Camp Counselor in York, Pennsylvania

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a 100 year old non-profit organization providing programs and services to children and adults with disabilities/special needs. We have openings for Camp Counselors who assist individuals while they foster independence, gain new skills and build long lasting friendships in a camp setting. Upcoming adult camps for 2025 include April 11-13 and May 16-18, and all held outside of Bloomsburg in Millville, PA. A weekend stipend of $250 is provided along with food and housing for the weekend. 

JOB SUMMARY

Camp counselors are responsible for the day-to-day tasks that directly involve campers.

QUALIFICATIONS-Camp Counselor

  • Minimum age of 16 to staff military camps
  • Minimum age of 18 to staff adult camps
  • PA Criminal Record Check
  • Child Abuse History Clearance
  • FBI Clearance
  • Passing of physical examination and TB test

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Camp Counselor

  • Supervise campers to ensure participant safety
  • Motivate campers to participate in camp activities
  • Identify individual goals and ensure campers are meeting their desired outcomes
  • Implement and lead campers in age-appropriate activities
  • Be willing and able to participate in all camp activities
