Job Title: Engineering Test Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to write in-process test procedures for circuit boards, troubleshoot to the component level, and provide support for new systems development. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams, report faults and failures, and return defective components to Quality Assurance. Travel to customer sites for inspections, installations, and repairs is required. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Write in-process test procedures for circuit boards.

  • Design test fixtures (a plus).

  • Troubleshoot down to the component level.

  • Work closely with Engineering to support new systems development.

  • Load software for system testing.

  • Read schematics and wiring diagrams or wire lists prior to system testing.

  • Report unusual and/or recurring faults and failures.

  • Return defective components to Quality Assurance.

  • Travel to customers for inspections, installations, and repairs.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in the electrical/electronic testing field.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

  • Working knowledge of digital electronics.

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and test equipment, including digital oscilloscopes.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.

  • Experience with analog and digital power circuits.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree desirable.

  • Established security clearance highly desirable.

  • Power conversion/power supply experience desirable.

  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills.

  • Some travel required to support fielded equipment, domestic and international.

Work Environment

The work environment is a standard engineering/manufacturing company located in a large building currently being renovated to enhance efficiency in manufacturing. The facility is equipped with new equipment and advanced testing setups. The company promotes a very collaborative culture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
