Pearl Creek Management, Inc. Agricultural Equipment Operator in Wyoming, New York

7 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Job Available 06/02/2025 - 10/31/2025.

Crops: Squash, peas, dry beans, beans, beets, corn, greens, kale and spinach.

An Agricultural Equipment Operator is responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to the cultivation and harvesting of crops, including planting, weeding, irrigating, and harvesting, requiring physical stamina and the ability to operate farm machinery and hand tools in all weather conditions.

Crop Management: Prepare soil by tilling, cultivating and planting seeds according to seasonal requirements; Manual field work, includes picking rocks, hand hoeing to cultivate, weeding crops by hand, and hand harvest work; Harvest crops by hand or run harvesting equipment ensuring not to bruise or scar produce. During squash harvest, must carry a full container weighting approximately 50 pounds and empty container into a bin; Pull and discard culls as directed by the supervisor.

Equipment Operation: Operate farm machinery such as tractors and harvesters safely and efficiently; Perform basic maintenance and repairs on farm equipment, including in the field

General Farm Maintenance: Maintain of fields, hedgerows, woods, storage facilities, and buildings will be required; Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures on the farm; Assist with tasks such as weed control and pest management

Other Duties: Ability to operate trucks, car, pickup, van or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers to farm properties; Haul tools, supplies, crops; Transport workers to grocery store, bank, etc. on as-needed-basis. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Demonstrated ability to operate farm equipment including tractors with GPS, perform tillage and cultivation tasks; Demonstrated ability to run harvesting equipment; Demonstrated ability to drive a pickup truck with trailer and operate a skid steer; Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools safely; Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance; Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Sitting; Standing; Walking; Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds; Repetitive bending; Physical strength and endurance to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions such as: hot, cold, light rain, wet, and high humidity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 months verifiable experience in performing the tasks described.
  • Driver requirements: Class D (standard)
  • Lifting requirement of 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive movements
  • Extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking/sitting, frequent stooping/bending.
