Full job descriptionThe Lead Teacher will work with the co-teacher to create lesson plans and instruct students in accordance with the curriculum.* Develop and implement lesson plans that demonstrate a thorough understanding of the curriculum.* Implement and model developmentally appropriate practice in all areas of instruction, including communication, and positive guidance strategies.* Implement classroom management strategies that promote student responsibility, problem-solving skills, and student accountability.* Demonstrate the ability to supervise students in a safe, nurturing, positive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.* Work as a team player with designated teaching team.* Log student attendance and meal.* Conduct developmental screenings, ongoing assessments, and parent conferences within required collection periods.* Maintain well-written anecdotal notes.* Participate in staff meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), and professional development training as required.* Actively participate in special program initiatives including community activities and events applicants must fully meet the minimum requirements for consideration.* Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), 1 year of teaching experience in a preschool setting, or equivalent experience working with children. Proficiency in communication skills must include coherent speaking, reading, writing, comprehension, interpretation, and delivery of instructions in both the oral and written form. Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, NAEYC standards, and GROW NJ Kids initiative.
