Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant provides financial support to the business by ensuring proper accounting, resolving discrepancies, and preparing financial reports according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. The position reports directly to the Field Accounting Supervisors.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Conducts monthly review of Work in Process (WIP) and cost reports, including primary responsibility for certain regions and/or business units directly interacting with management

  • Active involvement in monthly close process including journal entries and analysis – being able to investigate, comprehend, and communicate revenue and margin drivers

  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

  • Conducts contract analysis ensuring alignment with the organization’s accounting practices

  • Collaborate directly with operational management to provide and obtain relevant information

  • Partner with finance team members to support field operations timely and effectively

  • Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and develops, proposes, and implements solutions

  • Supports internal and external audits by providing relevant reports and documentation

  • Carefully follows established policy framework to resolve problems

  • Mentors and assists junior team members to achieve team goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financial is a plus

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, formulas, etc.

  • Excellent customer service including ability to interact with all levels timely and effectively

  • Professional communication both written and verbal

  • Able to work independently with minimum direction to resolve problems

  • Able to collaborate with a diverse group of team members across the business

  • Capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to successfully complete tasks within given deadlines

  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
