Evans Bank Security Officer in Williamsville, New York

Evans Bank is growing, and we are investing in our future! Headquartered in Western New York, we have a new opportunity for a Security Officer position that will be a part of the Evans Compliance team. The position will report directly to the Evans Bank Director of Compliance and be based out of Williamsville.

The Security Officer will oversee the implementation and management of the bank’s security program, policies, procedures, and equipment. The Security Officer is responsible for directing all internal and external security and loss prevention resources to reduce or eliminate losses from all sources. This position will also focus on establishing, coordinating, and implementing a security program for all offices, facilities, departments, and functions, consistent with all Regulation H and other regulatory requirements and other sound business and security practices.

    What we ask of you:

  • Develop and implement overall security plan based on approval by the Board of Directors for the physical security of employees, customers, and vendors as well as the security property associated with institution

  • Head the Robbery Response Team, including investigations with employees involved in bank robbery

  • Overall responsibility for the Regulation H, Subpart F, and the ATM Safety Act

  • Oversee all security devices in each office ensuring the establishment, supervision, and maintenance of records of operation

  • Ensure compliance of security policies through relationships with legal counsel and department leaders as it relates to protection of institution’s employees, customers, facilities, assets, records, and proprietary information

  • Establish and maintain satisfactory liaison with law enforcement officers at all levels in areas where offices are located

  • Oversee the review of losses, investigate when necessary, and report to appropriate law enforcement agency all losses where possible criminal action is indicated

  • Oversee the review of all incidents of attempted or completed crimes against the bank’s interests including the completion of an internal report available for review by auditors and regulators as required

  • Prepare and submit appropriate reports to Senior Management and the Board of Directors as necessary

  • Assist in loss prevention efforts to include fraud alerts from eFunds, confession of judgments, incident reports, and following up with other agencies, as appropriate

  • Assists in the development of new policies and procedures as well as any regulatory changes

  • Develops and maintains excellent professional work relationships with internal stakeholders and local, state, and federal agencies as required

  • Participates in the development, testing, and implementation of systems, work processes, and procedures to improve department efficiency and effectiveness

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality as the Security Officer

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Experience and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • At least 7 years of bank physical security experience preferred

  • At least 7 years of experience in working with fraud cases and previous experience with banking processes, policies, and department procedures

  • CCBSO Certification or the willingness to obtain

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Good analytical skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Strong report writing skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Access desired

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to make quick, reasoned decisions on complex issues

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible while responding to deadlines on assignments and workflow changes

  • Ability to manage and conduct logical investigations

    This position is anticipated to pay a base rate between $57,560/annually to $84,421/annually. This rate does not include potential incentive pay and benefits paid for by the company which may be in addition to the base rate of pay. The base rate of pay is determined by factors such as required experience, skill set needed, business impact of position, value of budget oversight and people management, among other factors.
