Northtowns Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a dependable, team-oriented X-Ray Technologist responsible for operating the C-arm equipment during surgical procedures, providing real-time imaging guidance to surgeons by positioning patients and manipulating the equipment to capture clear images of the surgical site, all while maintaining sterile practices and patient safety within the operating room environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Expertly operate specialized imaging devices used during surgery to provide live imaging during procedures like vascular surgery, orthopedic surgery, and minimally invasive procedures. 2. Accurately position patients on the operating table to achieve optimal image quality while considering surgical need and maintaining sterile technique. 3. Acquire high-quality images under the direction of the surgeon, interpreting the images to identify key anatomical landmarks and guide surgical interventions. 4. Effectively communicate with the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to ensure smooth procedure flow and patient safety. 5. Implement appropriate radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff during procedures. 6. Perform routine quality checks on imaging equipment and report any malfunctions promptly. 7. Provide patient comfort and support during surgical procedures, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns. 8. Maintain daily logs for equipment as applicable. 9. Maintains current knowledge of equipment use and safety. 10. Participates in in-service education programs, as requested. 11.Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: * Currently registered as a Radiology Technician in New York State. * A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Radiology Technician. * Current BCLS Certification.
Physical/Mental Requirements * Ability to sit/stand for a considerable amount of time; ability to walk. * Visual and auditory acuity for frequent use of computer, telephone, and occasional use of other office equipment. * Ability to perform occasional overhead and low reaching. * Physical strength required for equipment needs and patient-care activities. * Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities. * Ability to move quickly in response to center needs.
