WIREROPE WORKS INC Regional Sales Manager in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Job Summary: Manage the sales activities within the assigned sales territory by maximizing sales growth, profit margins, and service quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate sales, maintain established accounts, and develop new accounts to meet sales objectives and forecasts.
  • Recommend new products and markets, suggesting product changes where appropriate.
  • Assist in developing short and long-term sales tactics to meet strategic goals and objectives.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develop sales campaigns to meet company goals.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Conduct product presentations, seminars, and new customer contacts to promote sales.
  • Serve as a liaison between sales territory and inside sales, marketing, other regional sales territories, and corporate sales to provide competitor information, potential sales opportunities, or problems.
  • Serve as a liaison between Order Entry, Inventory Management, and Engineering to coordinate sales objectives with customer requirements.
  • Work closely with customers to resolve claims, invoice discrepancies, or other quality and service problems.
  • Control expenditures of the territory to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales.
  • Participate in special projects and related activities as required.
  • Daily and overnight travel required.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, public groups, and/or company employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Other skills and abilities: Blueprint reading, technical drawings, mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, physical properties, and product knowledge.
  • Driver's license required.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently works in outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
