UPMC is excited to announce an opening for a Full-Time Physical Therapist to join our dedicated team at the Costello Center. This role offers the opportunity to work daylight hours, Monday through Friday, providing a great work-life balance.

About the Role:

As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient care by:

  • Reviewing patient charts and performing initial assessments.

  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans.

  • Administering a variety of physical therapy treatments and modalities.

  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.

  • Documenting all treatments and patient interactions, including discharge planning and patient education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate patient status to referring physicians and other healthcare team members.

  • Serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, residents, and fellows.

  • Maintain professional licensure through ongoing education and professional development.

  • Perform assessments, reassessments, and treatments for patients of all ages.

  • Supervise physical therapist assistants and collaborate on patient care plans.

  • Rotate through different treatment areas to meet organizational needs.

  • Actively participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.

  • Maintain thorough documentation of all services rendered.

  • Provide home care instructions to patients and their families.

  • Schedule patients to ensure productivity and quality care.

Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

An active license in the practicing state is required.

CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Physical Therapist (PT)
