DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this role involves the thorough examination of intricate permit applications for water allocations and public water systems. Additionally, conducting pre-operational inspections of public water systems is a crucial task. The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications is essential, as is the application of environmental and engineering principles. Another important aspect of this position is the review and technical ranking of community water systems applications. While not mandatory, possessing a Professional Engineer License is highly desirable for this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Two years as an Environmental Engineering Specialist; or Three years of professional experience in environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field that includes or is supplemented by 9 credits in environmental engineering; or Graduate study in environmental engineering or in a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Conditions of Employment: This position will require possession of a valid driver's license.
