Overview
The Manager, Data Engineering position will be responsible for developing and executing data engineering strategy to support the organization's data needs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities
Set clear goals, establish priorities, and ensure successful project execution;
Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to optimize data engineering processes;
Monitor performance and provide performance feedback, guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team;
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, transformation, and storage;
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and implement data models that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs;
Integrate data from various sources, both internal and external, ensuring compatibility and seamless data flow; and
Identify and address bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and data processing issues to optimize the performance and reliability of data systems.
Qualifications
Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer & Information Sciences, or a related field;
2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation;
Experience developing and supporting large-scale platforms/application;
Experience handling multiple projects;
Experience working with Agile team environment;
Experience with data governance, security, and compliance practices;
Experience with data integration, data modeling, and ETL processes;
Experience using: Web API, Object-oriented programming (OOP), .NET/C#, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, JavaScript, HTML , XML, AWS Glue, Azure, GCP, Python, Hadoop, and Spark.
