Join our team at HKC Long Island for a job working in facilities management and maintenance supporting a worthy mission.Spend your days outdoors working with other motivated, committed colleagues, with team spirit and a can-do attitude.Hours: Mon - Fri 7:00am - 3:30pm | Season duration: March 25 - end November | Pay rate is dependent on term ($17.50/hr summer only | $18/hr spring - fall)HKC strives to keep our property in excellent shape and that starts with our maintenance/grounds crew under the supervision of the Property Manager.Join a team that gets great satisfaction in knowing it plays such an important role in the success of our client camps.We're seeking people who are able to:Operate necessary grounds keeping and heavy equipment such as mowers, leaf blowers, weed whackers, etc., safelyAssist in ensuring the grounds are maintained and kept clean (i.e. debris removal, trash pick-up)Assist in maintenance of camp grounds and facilities (i.e. landscaping, cleaning, painting)Assist in the performance of minor electrical, carpentry and plumbing work needed for maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities.Assist in trash collection and ensuring cleanliness of grounds and facilities.We take the time to train you so you can execute to our standards and expectations (including for OSHA 10 certification) and ensure you have proper safety equipment.EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEValid driver's licenseHigh School diploma or the equivalent preferredHands on experience in electrical, plumbing and/or carpentry a plusQUALIFICATIONSAbility to understand and implement safety regulations and proceduresAbility to walk, stand, bend and stretchAbility to lift up to 40 pounds. Occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 100 pounds may be required.Ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to HKC operations.Ability to work on a team and work well with othersAbility to accept guidance, direction and supervisionAbility to safely drive cars, light trucks, tractors, and other motorized vehiclesHKC requires all applicants submit three references.
