New York State Job Bank Assistant Lead Teacher in Westbury, New York

Job Description: Assistant Lead Teacher Rockgate Daycare and Leaning Center is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher on a full time or part time basis. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every child. You will have lots of opportunities to gain new skills and develop as a teacher. Essential Duties and Responsibilities -Support the Lead Teacher in the implementation age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote child development and learning. - Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and prepare lesson materials and classroom resources. %uF0B7 Provide individualized attention and support to children as directed by the lead teacher. -Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. -Assist with daily routines including meal times, nap times, toileting, following established procedures and guidelines. -Monitor children%u2019s behavior and interactions, intervening as needed to promote positive social skills and conflict resolution. %uF0B7 Help maintain clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning and play. - Assist with setting up and arranging learning center, materials, and equipment for daily activities. -Encourage children to participate in activities and follow classroom rules and routines. -Communicate regularly with the lead teacher, sharing observation, concerns, and updates on children%u2019s progress. %uF0B7 Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall functioning of the daycare program. - Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and caregivers, demonstrating professionalism and empathy in all interactions. %uF0B7 Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education. - Seek feedback from lead teacher and supervisors to improve performance and effectiveness I supporting children%u2019s development.

Qualifications -High School Diploma/Some college coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. - Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting. - Basic understanding of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques. - Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with children. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills - CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Work Schedule -40 hours per week/20 hours per week

Wage - Salary: 16.50-18.00
