Bank Secrecy Act Representative

The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Representative will be responsible for assisting the BSA Officer in reviewing and complying with the BSA by performing the daily requirements of the BSA policy and procedures of the bank.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the proper filing and completion of Currency Transaction Report (CTR) filings.
  • Reviews records to ensure compliance of Customer Identification Program (CIP) regulations.
  • Prepares case files with all required documentation for BSA retention.
  • Completes monthly monitoring of accounts with W-8s.
  • Maintains records and conducts ongoing review of BSA Exempt accounts.
  • Investigates Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR).
  • Completes research required for USA Patriot Act Section 314(a) information.
  • Reviews new names of daily OFAC database scrubs.
  • Provides input to BSA Officer on any control weaknesses, policy enhancements, and training needs to keep compliant.

Skills and Experience

  • General understanding of regulatory requirements surrounding the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Proficient communication -- in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Proficient math and computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
  • Strong attention to detail, decision making and self-motivation
  • Minimum of two (2) years of banking experience (preferred)
