Job Summary

Location: Wellsboro, PA - but could be Port Allegany or Troy.

Telemetry Technician in this position will be involved with the installation, configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SCADA hardware, software, and related equipment. Installation and maintenance of Metretek system components at the field level. Installation, maintenance, and configuration of remotely operated valves and related equipment.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesCalibrate and maintain SCADA and distribution measurement under the direction of a Sr Telemetry Technician.Analyze and repair measurement and telemetry problems with the assistance of a Sr Telemetry Technician.Install new equipment in the SCADA and Distribution systems and maintain related documentation under the direction of a Sr Telemetry Technician.Provide technical assistance for the Metretek network.Provide technical assistance to area M&R, Operations, and other departments as required. Primarily this will consist of support relating to regulation, pressure control monitoring, L/P plant operation, distribution gas heaters, and electronic equipment..Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of basic gas measurement principals.Knowledge of gas regulation and distribution.Knowledge of basic electronic circuitry and components.Basic computer programming skills.Knowledge of network communication protocols and telecommunications.Education and ExperienceAssociates degree in electronics or related field is desirable.2 years' experience.Must pass a general knowledge test on computers, computer programming, communications, and electronics with a minimum score of 80%.
