Purpose of Position:

The primary responsibility of the Fuel Technician is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our gas pumps by conducting monthly inspections and performing necessary maintenance tasks.

Job Responsibilities & Basic Qualifications:

The list below contains tasks that are typically associated with the job. It is not all-inclusive and may vary.

  • Conduct monthly inspections of gas pumps to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fuel dispensers and associated equipment.

  • Respond promptly to any equipment malfunctions or customer concerns related to fueling operations.

  • Adhere strictly to all safety laws, regulations and guidelines governing fuel handling and storage.

  • Operate company vehicles responsibly and ensure they are properly maintained.

  • Report any issues or safety hazards promptly to management.

  • Must be able to drive to any Sonbyrne Sales, Inc. facilities with little or no notice given

  • Byrne Dairy operates 24 hour facilities which occasionally requires the maintenance worker to attend to problems at Byrne Dairy facilities at night or on the weekends.

  • Performs related work as required.

Job Requirements & Desired Skills:

  • High School Diploma

  • Proven experience in a similar role.

  • Meet minimum requirements on pre-employment testing, drug test and have a valid drivers license.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to fuel handling.

  • Some knowledge of the occupational hazards in the use of power tools and equipment, and of necessary safety precautions.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Ability to diagnose malfunctions and defects in mechanical and similar equipment and to determine adequate corrective measures.

  • Safe work practices

  • Safe driving practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks related to equipment maintenance.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Estimated Annual Salary: $50,000-$56,000
