DUTIES:                               * Responsible for creating powerful, scalable APIs using REST and other patterns that follow our API design standards and best practices; design, develop, test, implement, and maintain complex integration solutions with limited direction; lead and coordinate code/peer reviews of API development work to ensure it aligns to the business and technical requirements; participate in or leads API development activities for a single functional area to achieve project objectives; act as an expert in the areas of API Integration technologies, quality control and auditing of information, including working directly with developers and clients to resolve specific integration issues; provide ongoing technical training for less experienced teammates, and mentor developers in API Integration methodologies and technologies; actively advise in-house API specialist and management in the area of integration; ensure that our APIs are consumer centric and extremely usable; enrich and contribute to the standards, best practices and patterns with respect to API design; use the latest frameworks and patterns to great effect, and write reusable, high performance code rapidly; work as a part of global API Platform Development and Maintenance; operate as an important member of the API Scrum team; engage with developer community and (internal) integration team; create Metrics and Monitors for API User (developer) Engagement; work with a cross-functional team to translate customer needs and technology directions into new features and services; work with documentation and Source Code sample development; attend Hackathons with Platform Partners; safeguard technical standards and established architectural guidelines; advise on and develop connections to general infrastructure; support and drive Quality Assurance; review, extend and develop documentation and guidelines for on boarding and off boarding of integration resources; support the on boarding process and optimize it; gather developer and other stakeholder feedback to validate that the product works against stated metrics; prioritize and deliver necessary enhancements; drive day-to-day prioritization of work operations, projects and scope with the Scrum Master; troubleshoot, Support, test events and reported issues; help innovate and improve company's delivery methods and drive the team towards continuously delivery (focusing on continuous integration, release trains etc.); set up and maintain automated unit tests, performance test etc.; and, help improve the API Scrum by refining the definition of done, ways of working and other processes used by the team to improve velocity and team karma. Telecommuting permitted up to 80%.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      *REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related position. Experience must include the following:

  • Two (2) years of experience working on Integration development;                                                                                                                                                                               Experience must also include demonstrable knowledge/experience with the following:
  • Demonstrable experience in Financial Services industry including asset finance;
  • Demonstrable experience with Agile Scrum methodology and teams, Swagger, and other API Management Solutions and documentation languages;
  • Demonstrable experience with Visual Studio Team Services / TFS;
  • Demonstrable experience in the Axway API Manager, Axway Policy Studio, Axway API Gateway, Analytics and other tooling within the Axway product suite;
  • Demonstrable experience in integration technologies like IBM WebSphere Message Broker or Microsoft BizTalk;
  • Demonstrable experience in programming languages like Java, .NET, JavaScript etc.;
  • Demonstrable understanding Channel development like mobile APPs, web sites and partner integrations;
  • Demonstrable experience with designing, testing, and implementing web-services and application integrations in a Service Oriented Architecture Environment;
  • Demonstrable understanding of B2B scenarios (gateways, security, business partner agreements); and,
  • Demonstrable experience working with SOAP, WSDL, XML Web Services, REST/JSON, RESTful APIs, XPath queries, XSLT and complex schemas.
