This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

The role is responsible for correctly, safely and efficiently processing, packaging and warehousing salt products for a salt manufacturing and packaging facility.

Job Type: Full Time

Shift Available: Rotating shift

Compensation: $20.00/hr plus $0.45 shift differential

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Operating salt conveying equipment, operation of packaging and related equipment, operating mobile equipment. This can include, but is not limited to, working with bulk trucks, rail hoppers and box cars

  • Ensures proper storage, loading and shipping/receiving of packaged products

  • Strict compliance with safe work rules, good housekeeping practices and specified FSQR policies / procedures / standards

  • Input production and downtime information into SAP and RT DUETT

  • Minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment

  • Perform any miscellaneous duties as assigned including but not limited to: minor maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance tasks, housekeeping tasks, product quality testing tasks, confined space entries (bin entries), repalletizing / disposal of distressed products, etc.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility

  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable

  • Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

  • Ability to operate machinery

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

  • Basic use of a computer

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice

Preferred:

  • At least (1 year) of experience in a production or plant environment

  • Forklift experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with Inventory Systems
