TITLE: Electronic and Computer Technology Instructor LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment at Bohlen Technical Center, Watertown, New York RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide instruction exploring careers in the electronics and computer technology. Duties include: Collaborating with colleagues to integrate academics and career and financial management into the course curriculum. Prepare students for continued education and entry level positions in the Information Technology industry. Networking with local managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments of a variety of businesses and government to ensure the program stays current and to maintain relationships for possible student internship sites through annual advisory committee and other meetings. Maintain the instructor's own current certification in the IT certifications that students will be earning. Maintain a functioning lab environment with appropriate software and hardware to meet the learning needs of the students, including spare/practice parts and drives. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess NYS Certification in Electrical-Electronic Technology or be eligible for a Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests. SALARY: $52,249-$59,314. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association.
