POSITION SUMMARYThe Sportsbook Supervisor provides direct supervision of the sportsbook writers. Enforces all internal control procedures, department procedures and policies as outlined in department and company manuals and in accordance with Internal Controls. The Sportsbook Supervisor is responsible to foster an environment that rewards Team Members for providing an exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIESThe following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all inclusive.

  • Explains, educates, and assists customers with sports wagering and information

  • Required to know and deliver the company core values

  • Responsible for training of Sports Writers and occasional assistance in writing tickets and cashiering

  • Reports daily shift activity including tracking and logging customer betting information and coordinating with other shifts to communicate issues and events for the day

  • Responsible for preparing daily paperwork for Odds Sheets, Toke Logs, and Bank sheets

  • Required to approve or deny sports wagers based on criteria set by company guidelines and regulations

  • Effectively handles customer disputes, concerns, and requests

  • Maintains security of and protects company assets

  • Ensures that staff behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards

  • Assigns responsibilities, windows, and break schedules to sports writers

  • Responsible for controlling labor costs through proper forecasting and adjusting of staff

  • Adjusts daily work force based upon business needs

  • Required to address and manage complaints or concerns from Team Members

  • Request to possess a complete understanding and adherence to Team Member policies including but not limited to coaching and counseling staff and the use of progressive discipline to modify performance

  • Reviews Team Member(s) performance and provide evaluations

  • Required to enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs

  • Required to emphasize and role model the company mission of providing excitement and providing world class service

  • Required to effectively communicator to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided to all shifts

  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information

  • Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner

  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management

WORKING CONDITIONSMust have ability to:

  • Must be able to sit / stand / walk for long periods of time

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced Casino Environment:

  • Low Lighting

  • Noise / loud music

  • Multiple distractions while multi-tasking

  • Must be able to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours

  • Be physically mobile with the ability to move around all work areas effectively and efficiently with reasonable accommodations

  • Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces or crowded conditions

JOB QUALIFICATIONSThe Sportsbook Supervisor must have experience in sportsbook operations and thorough knowledge of sports wagering and sports wagering software. Results oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to interact effectively with the public, staff, and colleagues. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of 6 months experience as a Sportsbook Supervisor; or equivalent combination of education and casino supervisor experience. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, instructions, and correspondence/memos; author reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or team members and guests. Working knowledge of Excel and Word required. Attention to detail and accuracy. Previous customer service experience preferred.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino

  • Obtain required license(s)

  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations

  • Responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco

  • Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department

  • Knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling

  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls

  • Responsible for taking the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management

  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of
