Duties Description Under the supervision of the Human Resources Specialist 1, the Office Assistant 2 (OA2) will provide clerical and data entry support to the Work-Related Injury department and Benefits department. This position requires strong communication and computer skills. The OA2 will answer phones and emails, type correspondences and maintain a variety of tracking spreadsheets• The incumbent must work independently and understand and implement the guidelines of work-related injuries for all current and past Taconic employees. • The incumbent will perform all tasks related to the NYBEAS system including C2’s, C11’s and C256.2’s for all Taconic employees.• The incumbent will be responsible for running FMLA reports for employees out on work-related injuries.• The incumbent will be responsible for tracking all work-related injuries in excel.• The incumbent will be responsible for reporting all work-related injuries to Department of Labor and by completing PESH reports yearly. • The incumbent will also provide guidance to employees regarding employee accident injury forms and procedures to follow while out on a work-related injury. • The incumbent will be responsible for completing employee’s timesheets while they are out due to work-related injuries. • The incumbent must have an understanding of and implement the guidelines of Health Benefits for all current and past Taconic employees. • They will perform all tasks related to the NYBEAS system including new employee benefits, changes to employee’s benefits and the separation of services/benefits for all Taconic employees.• The incumbent will also provide guidance to new retires regarding their health insurance as a retiree and assist them in completing the necessary forms. • The incumbent will be responsible for assistance with front door, front desk and phone coverage. • Other duties as assigned.LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/company/nys-office-for-people-with-developmental-disabilities/posts/?feedView=all#LI-DL2
Minimum Qualifications COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:You must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this title.NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:One year of clerical experience.PROMOTION:One year as an Office Assistant 1; or one year of permanent service in a clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 6 or higher.TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive, non-competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. Additional Comments This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.• Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the Mid-Hudson adjustment. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for Grade 9 ($41,399) and Mid-Hudson adjustment ($1,650). Mid-Hudson Adjustment is added to the job rate ($50,884).• If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.• For CSEA positions: Local Bidding Agreements will be honored.• Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures.
