NJ Employer Agricultural Equipment Operators in WARWICK, New York

Anticipated period of employment: 03/05/2025 to 11/25/2025

Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in this order.

Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Operate tractors, tractor drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate spray & harvest crops. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Manually prune, plant, cultivate, & harvest fruits, vegetables, & field crops such as: apples, pears, peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, berries, pumpkins, tomatoes, summer & winter vegetables. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, & knives. Duties include tilling soil & applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops & applying pesticides. Construct trellises, repair fences & farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Set up & operate irrigation equipment. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Help with making and bottling of cider. Help set up, clean and take down cider equipment. Cut, split & stack firewood. Harvest fruits & vegetables by hand. Apply pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm manager of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, & weeds to determine the selection & application of pesticides & fertilizers. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Record information about crops, such as pesticides use, yields or costs. Employer will expect worker to pick a minimum of 100 bu boxes of apples with no more than 4% bruising. While working in the field, cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Due to safety concerns on a farm, workers must understand basic instructions in English.
