DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Electron Microscopy Technologies (EMT) is the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality instrumentation and software for imaging and analysis in TEM and SEM applications. EMT is looking for an Electronics Factory Service Technician who will be responsible for performing repairs on electronic and imaging system.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Factory manufacture and repair of precision instruments. * High attention to detail * Ensure newly manufactured and repaired systems meet operating specifications. * Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and work cooperatively and jointly with all departments. * Read and interpret schematics and drawings * Solder and do rework on assemblies * Propose design enhancements and improvements. * Communicate clearly with various department regarding pertinent issues * Troubleshooting and maintenance support for Gatan products. * Schedule and document performed work.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Enthusiastic attitude with a strong work ethic * Excellent communication skills * A successful candidate must be organized, detail oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize, execute plans to meet deadlines and be a flexible team player * Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation. * Use precision test equipment. * Read and interpret schematics and drawings * Solder and do rework on assemblies * Communicate clearly with various department regarding pertinent issues * Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as refined analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to accept directions and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations * Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles * Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges * Demonstrates a good attitude toward work and arrives on time for start of shift

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * Associates degree in electronics * A combination of formal training and additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of an Electronics degree * At least 3-5 years related technical and/or industry experience with a strong mechanical aptitude. * May lead and/or participate in functional training and/or mentoring of others * Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
