At our Fortune 1000 diversified energy company, you’ll find a friendly, community-minded environment, with flexible work schedules, opportunities for growth and development, and competitive pay and benefits.New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Technician II to monitor and perform inspections of gas pipelines within the scope of accepted company policies, state and federal regulatory guidelines.Major Responsibilities:Perform pipeline integrity assessment activities and cathodic protection monitoring surveys of underground steel pipelines in accordance with company standards, state and federal regulations.Perform pipeline assessment and indirect inspection of pipeline and assist senior department personnel with direct inspection of pipe, collect data as required for IMP programs.Prepare work order package and obtain construction and road opening work permits from State, Townships and Counties to complete TIMP and CP related work orders.Prepare purchase order requisitions for materials and services needed for Pipeline Integrity work.Complete NJNG transmission system CP surveys and inspections per code requirements.Troubleshoot identified non-operational rectifier units and determine repair requirements.Troubleshoot CP systems not meeting criteria during surveys and determine remediation requirements.Perform inspections of CP system installation, including guiding company contractors during CP installation process for compliance of NJNG S.O.M.E.Lend technical support during installation of cathodic protection devices, including the installation of rectifiers, remote monitoring units, test stations, bonds and anodes.Review completed work order packages for complete as-built, materials used and posting in the NJNG GIS are accurate and complete.Maintain Operator Qualification as required for Job Description.Maintain a safe work environment by following company approved safety requirements and using company issued safety equipment.Position Specifications:Two-year Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.Other CP related work experience with Certification Association for Materials Protection & Performance (AMPP, formerly NACE) certification preferred.A minimum of 3 years' experience in integrity assessments, direct examinations/repairs. Complete cathodic protection surveys including steel pipe coating inspection, atmospheric monitoring and repair of cathodic protection system is required.Must be proficient with GIS/GPS and in the use of computer, including the use of basic software such as MS Word, MS Excel.Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.Must have basic knowledge of natural gas pipeline systems, including, familiarity with the hazards of natural gas.Individual must meet "Operator Qualifications" requirements as defined under 49CFR 192 Subpart N.Travels within company territories for routine inspection/testing (60%).* The above job description is reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limits the supervisor from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary.This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) regulations.
