The Team:

Whether a member of our engineering or architecture teams, Cloud Architects are individual contributors who also lead small niche teams expected to solve problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative delivery environment. To meet these demands, candidates should be influential engineering leaders with deep technology expertise, and a collaborative style that brings others into the decision-making process. Cloud Architects will significantly impact the cloud strategy within their organization and implement next generation cloud solutions that improve scalability, resiliency, availability of our applications across organizational boundaries.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Participate in relevant solution design activities to ensure alignment to cloud architecture and business strategy

  • Participate and lead the way to building our multi-cloud strategy

  • Build cloud native services that scale on-demand, are resilient and highly available

  • Advocate and provide guidance on best practices for system reliability, availability & scalability

  • Work with security engineering to incorporate security in our applications deployed on cloud

  • Build common framework & libraries to promote code re-use and leverage inner-sourcing where possible

  • Review and enhance overall architecture & engineering practices for domains, in alignment with divisional and enterprise guidelines

  • Look broadly across the domain to ensure consistency in architecture & engineering practices across the domain

  • Work with individual teams to do design reviews and code reviews and help them formulate designs and approaches to solve for known and emerging challenges

  • Make sure the overall end-to-end software architechtuew of the platform is cohesive and evolving toward target needs

Benefits Information:

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $270,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience of working with technology leaders on the implementation of architectural decisions

  • 4+ years building cloud native architectures, serverless architectures, architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms

  • In-depth knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and serverless technologies such as Lambda

  • Experience with battle-tested OSS projects within the Kubernetes ecosystem.

  • Knowledge of IaC tools & technologies

  • Ability to provide in-depth product evaluations and quick PoCs when needed

  • Hands-on working experience with AWS, expertise with Azure is a plus.

  • Technical expertise in building distributed cloud native solutions
