CNC Lathe/Mill Operator

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program, set-up, and operate CNC lathes/mills and manual mills/lathes, with an emphasis on manual work for prototyping tools and tooling modifications.

• Use optical comparators, micromotors, calipers, and other measuring tools.

• Perform manual editing and dimensional inspection.

• Conduct part inspections.

• Ensure parts are deburred and clean before inspection.

• Maintain a clean work area before and after shifts.

• Operate machines safely and efficiently.

• Work with tool steels.

• Wear personal protective equipment as required.

• Notify management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and personal injuries.

• Adhere to established policies and procedures, with a focus on safety regulations.

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including fluid and filter checks.

Responsibilities Include:

• Programming, setting up, and operating lathes/mills.

• Manual editing and dimensional inspections.

• Producing parts to print specifications.

• Keeping work areas clean, orderly, and safe.

• Running machines in a safe manner.

• Returning tools to designated areas.

Qualifications:

• Skills:

• Attention to detail.

• Ability to make replacement machine parts for damaged components.

• Interpret drawings and specifications.

• Oral and written communication skills.

• Time management and organizational skills.

• Computer literacy; proficiency in Word and Excel is a plus.

• TIG welding skills are a plus.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to write simple correspondence.

• Ability to read large print material.

• Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with two-digit numbers.

• Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

• Full-time position.

• 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday.

• Overtime required.

• $25-34/HR

Pay Details: $25.00 to $34.00 per hour
