Laundry Worker FT and PT- This is routine work involving the laundering and distribution of linen and clothing to the residents of the facility. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Housekeeper Supervisor. Does related work as required. <P> TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: <LI> Distributes and gathers linen from nursing units; <LI> Distributes and disposes of underpads and diaper products; <LI> Launders, irons and repairs resident's personal clothing, draperies and blankets; <LI> Distributes resident's personal clothing; <LI> Prepares soiled linen for pickup by contract laundry; <LI> Maintains inventory control of linens; <LI> Keeps laundry department clean and neat; <LI> Notifies supervisor of problems with equipment; <LI> May perform custodial duties as required. <P> FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: <LI> Working knowledge of laundry methods and operations; <LI> Working knowledge of the use of common laundry cleaning appliances and materials; <LI> Skill in performance of simple laundry tasks; <LI> Ability to perform work requiring physical effort; <LI> Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; <LI> Willingness to be exposed to dirt, grime, blood, offensive sights and odors; <LI> Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. <P> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None
