National Winter Actvity Center SUMMER: Part-Time Camp Medical Staff in Vernon, New Jersey

Position:

Summer Day Camp Medical Staff

Season:

Summer 2024 Seasonal Full-Time and Part-Time

Camp Dates:

July 1, 2024 – August 23, 2024

Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Position Purpose:

The summer day camp medical staff is responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will be a New Jersey licensed physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, certified first aid paramedic or emergency certified medical technician, or can obtain a temporary license in New Jersey

  • First Aid/CPR Certification required

  • Experience in first aid and emergency management

  • Desire to work with children and young adults

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of the development needs of youth and a strong desire to work with children in a mentoring role

  • Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in program areas

    Responsibilities:

  • Provide health care to meet individual needs of camp staff and campers.

  • Set up camp health center

  • Responsible for collecting, monitoring, and administering medications as prescribed

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to NJ state and American Camp Association Standards

  • Ability to communicate with parents, staff, and administration about camper health concerns
