Under the general direction of the D & A Administrator and under the direct supervision of the Prevention Program Specialist, the D & A Prevention Specialist is primarily responsible for the implemeentation of the countywide prevention plan as indicated below:

• Implement and oversee goals for the county prevention efforts.

• Expand prevention program efforts in accordance with the plan.

• Assist with the development of the annual D & A training plan based on the needs of treatment providers and prevention providers.

• Maintain the SCA as a resource agency.

• Attend various prevention meetings as the SCA representative. Supervisor will use minutes from meetings to assist in employee professional development.

• Attend and receive certificates for all mandatory PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs trainings.

• Assist with the bi-annual treatment needs and resource assessment when necessary.

• Perform Case Management duties as needed. This requires a thorough understanding of substance abuse and the approval process.

• Attend all required case management trainings.

• Perform other adminsitrative and program duties as assigned.
