Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:Have the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovelWork with others to help complete tasks in a timely mannerVarying types of work including: digging, flagging, concrete work, backfill pipeBasic troubleshootingSigning of roads prior to mobilization of equipment into workzone - includes pounding signposts into ground at specified locations and bolting traffic control signs onto posts, setting of windmaster stands/signs at above ground locations when requiredRemoval of traffic control devices upon completion of roadworkOrganization/inventory of traffic control signs/posts in designated sign shop area and yardUnderstanding of UDIGNY rules and procedures through certification trainingLaboring and/or flagging duties as neededMaintenance/care of trucks assigned to sign crewRequired Skills/Abilities:Reliable transportation to and from workStrong work ethicPhysical Organization and time managementFlexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessaryTravel and overnight potentially necessaryWorking knowledge of general hand tools and power toolsCDL License a plusPassing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conductedConsent to a DMV license evaluationMust have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsObserve and comply with necessary PPE requirementsMust be able to work in a noisy area with many odors presentBending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:Ability to read and understand SDSBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office)High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferredBasic math skillsPosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame.
