Gear Motions, a growing Employee Owned company, has a need for an experienced CNC or Manual Machinist. Must also have some experience setting up either manual or CNC equipment and using required inspection instruments.

Perform set-up, and operation of all equipment within the assigned department. Basic ability to set-up all inspection instruments for testing and gauging of job. Has basic understanding of machines and detail drawings and specifications. Ensure time standards and process requirements shown on the traveler are met and report all discrepancies. Progress through any training process on the established schedule. Work independently under general supervision, set-ups are checked, with instructions and guidance provided on new work, set-up and operating difficulties. Maintain gages and tooling in good operating condition. Perform daily preventative maintenance in compliance with the posted schedules. Conform to all Quality System requirements, including the use of the tools of Total Quality Management and Lean Manufacturing. Work toward better, more efficient and effective productive systems and/or procedures. Follow all safety procedures and utilize all safety equipment needed for any job or process. Report hazardous conditions, accidents, or defective materials to the department Supervisor. Continuously maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
