About the Position: One vacancy located: TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT PRODUCTION ENGINEERING SATCOM AND SITE INSTALLATION DIV SATCOM SYSTEMS ENGINEERING BR TOBYHANNA, PA. Responsibilities Serves as the project lead and is the technical authority on one or more complex SATCOM/communication systems. Provides technical guidance to the customer and TYAD management officials for new systems, which TYAD is responsible for the design, development, fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting. Reviews all PM requirements for technical guidance to ensure the PMs system requirements will be met. Performs engineering analysis to verify design concepts, system integrity, and safety. Makes sound administrative and technical decisions requiring an extensive background in various electronics fields. Project lead will travel to command and PM sites representing TYAD to describe TYADs capability to perform various design, analysis, and manufacturing tasks. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Electronics Engineering Leadership Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence In addition to the competencies, to qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do this work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as 1) Overseeing testing, installing, of electronic communications systems; 2) Providing technical guidance on electronic theory and techniques; AND 3) Leading team members to achieve specific tasks, program and/or production goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, no substitution of experience is allowed. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
