Purpose: The Associate Director, Customer Master & Data Product Owner is accountable for the management and implementation of customer master and reference data management for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (JJIM) to improve and maintain timeliness and quality of the data. The Associate Director role specifically assists with the management of data specifications associated with customer and vendor data management within the company’s data assets. The role will guide local and vendor resources to ensure the continuous improvement of business results through the implementation and management of standard master data management processes, tools, and business rules. In addition, provide ongoing management and oversight for master and reference data in support of business needs.
The Associate Director will manage the current inventory of data, along with appropriate data infrastructure, ensuring total quality and appropriate use across the organization, and will act as subject matter expert on opportunities to strengthen JJIM’s Customer Master Data & Platform environment through new partners and approaches. The Associate Director governs all business rules and owns the process to consider and align on changes and enhancements and provides regular communications regarding status of data quality. This includes the Healthcare Organizational (HCO) to HCO relationships and the associated HealthCare Professional (HCP) affiliations. As a key source of data expertise within JJIM and the Strategy, Analytics and Transformation (StAT) group, the Associate Director will partner with I/T and business partners to proactively resolve data issues and support large, complex data initiatives. With the Director, Data Management, the Associate Director is responsible for data acquisition and contracting and ensuring ongoing JJIM value for its data-related investments.
The Associate Director will also be the data product owner for the Account Data Product which will be the source-of-truth for all Healthcare Organizational Account data. The product owner defines the data product vision & roadmap, identifies new uses cases & projects, and drives ongoing adoption.
Strategy & Design
Lead the ongoing quality and application of JJIM data pipeline supporting the sales and marketing organization, ensuring high-quality data and appropriate use.
Evaluate and drive data management processes (i.e., define best practices and processes to support efficiencies within customer, and vendor data management)
Lead the solution, design and the development to create a single source of truth via the MDM Customer and Account data product solutions
Identify and define the right strategies to integrate Master data and our data products with other operational systems to leverage the Master data more efficiently and effectively.
Implement master data management standards, enforce data governance procedures and ensure data integrity across multiple platforms
Operations
Lead and manage the team on the MDM specific activities such as define the cleanse rules, survivorship, match rules, etc.
Track team’s progress, identify risks, issues, and highlight value of projects to leadership
Ensures quality of master data in key systems and development & documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
Oversee the resolution of any data change requests (DCRs) from the JJIM organization
Identifies root causes of data quality problems within their assigned area of stewardship and identifies sustainable solutions
Data Product Owner
Defines vision, sets goals, and shapes the roadmap for the data product along with the value proposition and measurement of it
Identifies new use cases & projects
Drives ongoing adoption & tracking
Facilitates requirements gathering with business data experts and IT
Secondary Responsibilities include:
Coordinates with cross-functional teams to help resolve operational issues
Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) teams to implement current plans and programs
In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, defines and implements data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable
Qualifications / Requirements:
BA/BS undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business, Technology, Analytics or Health Sciences is required. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
Validated experience of 7+ years in roles related to data management, analytics, insights or other commercial excellence areas within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
Proficient in data sources/products and expertise in using pharma industry syndicated/secondary data from leading vendors- IQVIA, Veeva, Definitive Healthcare, American Hospital Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), MedPro.
Preferred experience utilizing MDM tools sets such as Informatica, Reltio and the appropriate use and application within an MDM solution.
Strong analytical toolkit is required, including modern business intelligence tools and infrastructure that allow for effective management of large data, as is proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Proven results as a project manager in cross-functional technology projects required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and business and data analysis with focus on MDM operational processes that cross multiple therapeutic areas.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including ability to simplify complex technical issues.
Customer focus with building relationships, issue identification and resolution, problem-solving and project management skills.
Detail-oriented and results-driven.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. · Please use the following language:
