Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Scientist - Infectious Disease in Tarrytown, New York

Regeneron's Infectious Diseases Group is committed to developing life-saving therapeutics against a myriad of viral and bacterial pathogens. We are seeking a committed, hardworking Scientist with a strong background in virology and/or immunology to support development of biologics, including antibodies and antibody-like molecules. This involves forming strong collaborations with scientists in other departments and requires an ability to regularly and quickly learn new biology, develop new assays and protocols, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. In this role, you will be responsible for characterizing drug candidates and leading projects spanning the biologics development pipeline.

A Typical Day in the Role of Scientist May Include the Following:

  • Independently designing, conducting, analyzing, and troubleshooting rigorous in vitro experiments to drive projects in BSL2+ and BSL3 settings.

  • Performing high throughput molecular biology and virology techniques including PCR, cloning, nucleic acid isolation, neutralization assays, ELISA, and viral escape assays.

  • Developing and troubleshooting protocols.

  • Viral stock generation and characterization.

  • Cell line culture and maintenance.

  • In vivo work within a vivarium setting.

  • Collaborating with scientific colleagues in conducting research. Directly training, guiding, and mentoring junior scientists and associates as needed.

  • Author and review new and existing protocols, meticulously record experimental parameters, and maintain an accurate electronic laboratory notebook.

  • Provide regular progress updates and present data at departmental meetings.

This role requires a BS/MS degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Virology, or related field with 4+ years of industry or academia working experience. Expertise in cell culture, molecular cloning, molecular biology assay development and implementation with keen analytical and problem-solving skills are a must. Prior experience with reverse genetics, working with recombinant viruses, knowledge of viral glycoprotein biology, and/or prior in vivo work is a plus. The ability to independently design and complete experiments, as well as interpret, document, and communicate results is required.

Salary Range (annually)

$90,700.00 - $148,100.00
