Primary Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining client relationships by meeting with prospective and existing brokers

  • Develop leads and prospects for new brokers and insureds

  • Educate prospective brokers and insureds on the benefits and features of the safety group

  • Review former insureds, insureds quoted in prior years, and insureds not quoted (declined) in prior years for future eligibility in group; if they are eligible contact broker or insured to see if they are interested in a quote

  • Design marketing strategies (email blast campaigns, etc)

  • Cold call brokers and potential insureds

  • Exhibit at trade shows and attend industry events

  • Review potential submissions to determine eligibility (premium size, loss history, classifications)

  • Assist underwriting dept. in obtaining the required documentation for a submission, or additional documentation as needed

  • Follow up on quotes

Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience, experience working in an insurance brokerage or carrier a plus but not required

  • Property & Casualty License required

  • Self-motivated, driven, personable and highly motivated to achieve success

  • Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent time management, organization and follow-up skills - Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines

  • Consultative, positive and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients and associates

  • Excellent listening skills with strong customer focus - including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance

  • Applied Epic or similar agency management software experience is a plus

  • Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members

  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior and effort to achieve goals and objectives

  • Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy

  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude
