Geisinger Forensic Interviewer Child Advocacy Center in Sunbury, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Assists Child Protective Services, Law Enforcement, District Attorneys and medical professionals in the assessment and investigation of child sexual and physical abuse. Provides legally sound forensic interviews for all children coming to the Child Advocacy Center who are named as alleged victims in child abuse investigations. Supports and assists in facilitating with the growth of the program. Responsible for delivery of First Responder training within the Child Advocacy Center service area.

Job Duties

  • Takes all intake referrals for patients in need of services and determines if the referral meets the criteria for delivery of Child Advocacy Center services.

  • Coordinates all members of multidisciplinary teams in each county of service in preparation and scheduling of cases.

  • Conducts all forensic interviews provided, unless otherwise specified by the Coordinator, in accordance with Accreditation standards set forth by the National Children's Alliance.

  • Provides EPIC documentation of all forensic interviews and distributes copies of said documentation to appropriate investigating parties, with a signed consent.

  • Gathers necessary demographic and statistical information on each case as required for Accreditation with the National Children's Alliance and enters data into the NCATrak Case tracking database allowing for the generation of bi-annual statistical reports required of accredited Child Advocacy Centers.

  • Independently responsible for submission of required statistical reports to National Children's Alliance as per NCA accreditation requirement.

  • Assists the Coordinator in community outreach and prevention programs.

  • Provides testimony in court on all cases where the Court has issued subpoena and offers the Court professional assessment of the interview utilizing national child forensic interviewing guidelines, as well as expertise in child development, child suggestibility, memory, recall and recantation.

  • Attends monthly case review meetings to provide MDT members pertinent information about the results of the child forensic interview and renders independent opinion on the dynamics of the interview.

  • Attends and annual presents cases at both PA State FI Peer Review and National FI Peer Review.

  • Independently provides training to county Child Protection Services, Law Enforcement and District Attorneys.

  • Assists in fund raising activities as deemed appropriate by the CAC Coordinator.

  • Oversees day to day operations of the CAC in the absence of the CAC Coordinator.

Position Details

Hours: Monday - Friday/ Dayshift.

No On-Call, Weekends, or Major Holidays.
