Boose Aluminum Foundry Co., Inc. Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic in Stevens, Pennsylvania

Position is for a full-time Industrial Maintenance Mechanic and/or Industrial Electrician. Overtime may be required.  The position is for day-shift with an early start, however shift and starting time can be flexible.  Most importantly, we are looking for someone that fits our culture and core values.  What We Do Here at BAF Matters - and we need to find associates that understand that, and want to be part of a team that functions that way. 

Job Objectives:

  • Conduct general maintenance inspections, perform routine electrical maintenance, respond to faults and wiring issues, and install major electrical appliances for the building
  • Performs a variety of foundry start-up and machine/equipment maintenance functions
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations while maintaining BAF core values

Essential Job Functions:

  • Install Switch Gear, Transformers and Motor Control Centers.
  • Runs all types and sizes of electrical conduit.
  • Installs and trouble shoot AC & DC drives.
  • Terminates power, control and instrumentation wire and cable.
  • Works from various heights via platforms, scaffolds, ladders or man lifts.
  • Operates, maintains and works in close proximity to various power equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, man lifts, excavators, drills, saws, hydraulic tools and automatic machinery.
  • Installs and terminates data cable.
  • Responds to requests from the Department Supervisors for maintenance, adjustments or repairs to foundry machinery and equipment as well as building and grounds.
  • Prioritizes Maintenance Request Forms with first priority to production equipment breakdowns.
  • Provides maintenance, adjustments and repair covering mechanical, plumbing, hydraulics, lubrication, cleaning, electrical etc.
  • If help is needed, assists in other departments when instructed by a supervisor.
  • Performs all duties and functions in a manner that will minimize downtime.
  • Inspects equipment for preventative maintenance and reports any needed repairs or adjustments needed to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assists Maintenance Supervisor in ordering parts, supplies, tools and custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Keep maintenance records showing the dates of service to the various pieces of foundry machinery and equipment.
  • Helps maintain an inventory of small parts and reports for recorders of parts, as necessary
  • Starts up the required equipment and inspects
  • Carries out all duties & responsibilities in full accordance with the Company's policies & procedures
  • Maintains clean work area

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of 120/208 and 227/480V Single and 3Ph systems.
  • Understanding of schematics, ladder diagrams and electrical prints.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA safety standards.
  • Experience with medium voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of VFD installation and programming.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
