Job Title: Junior Gas Pipeline Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Natural Gas Designer/Engineer to join our Gas Design Team in Orlando. This role primarily involves supporting Underground Natural Gas Pipeline Design projects for utility companies throughout Florida. The position entails designing elements such as Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Flanges, Valves, Bypass Valves, Meters, Flowpipes, among others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare computer-drafted natural gas pipeline as-builts and mechanical detail drawings

  • Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD

  • Generate bill of materials

  • Work independently

  • Print working drawings using a plotter

  • Create estimated time requirements for projects

  • Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules

  • Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis

  • Operate a scanner to duplicate project documents and scan field notes

  • Complete pipeline 'as-built' drawings from field notes, historic documents, survey data, etc.

  • Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure

  • Verify and organize field visit survey notes

  • Assist Project Managers as needed

  • Attend meetings as needed

  • Maintain excellent client relations

  • Maintain a safe working environment

Essential Skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Experience in Natural Gas

  • Pipeline Design experience

  • Proficiency with MicroStation

  • Experience with civil 3D and AutoCAD 3D

  • Mechanical drafting skills

  • Engineering and design engineering skills

  • Experience with valves, heat exchangers, and flow analysis

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Pipeline design or related experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) preferred

  • ESRI/GIS experience is a plus

  • Strong communication skills

  • Detail-oriented

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid schedule with 2 office days and 3 remote days. The office is located in a State College, PA. The company is employee-owned and has a strong focus on safety, people, and client relations, with initiatives supporting diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
