Valcor Engineering ENGINEER, AEROSPACE PRODUCTION JR. in Springfield, New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Jr. Aerospace Production Engineer is responsible for improving yield rates for the Space product line. This role requires extreme flexibility and adaptability to the production schedule needs. It is expected that this individual be willing to learn hands-on for much of their time with the capability to supporting engineering tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses ATP failures and customer returns.

  • Provides engineering support to Assembly and Test personnel by ensuring compliance to engineering requirements.

  • Performs a hands-on engineering role between all production.

  • Provides recommendations and implementation of preventative/corrective actions.

  • Supports production personnel training and new product launch initiatives as required.

  • Confer, work closely, and obtain the necessary results with manufacturing, quality assurance, production, vendors, and contractors regarding the various aspects of product projects.

  • Report progress and unusual project occurrences to the Aerospace Production Engineering Manager.

  • Prepare and submit Test failure Reports for review by Aerospace Production Engineering Manager.

  • Review drawings for correct application of latest specifications. Also make recommendations relative to manufacturability of components and apply good value engineering practices for cost reduction purposes.

  • And other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Mechanical aptitude, at times hands on with hardware for most of the day.

  • Demonstrates Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across different teams.

  • Ability to lean quickly through on the job training.

  • Ability to adapt and perform efficiently in a fast paced, continuously growing company environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficient with SolidWorks

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and/or sitting at a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

  • Some travel to suppliers may be required.
