Job Description

Starting rate: $20.14 per hour

We have a challenging opportunity for a Warehouse Associate based out of our Springfield Gardens, NY location.

Job Summary: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for monitor ing , process ing and verify ing inbound and outbound shipments in the facility by physically sorting customer shipments, verifying inventory detail by comparing actual inventory to paperwork and otherwise ensuring precise control and record-keeping. This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's and its customers, as well as the safety of all on the premises of Brink's .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and deliver shipments of precious metals for BGS or outside carrier at facility.

  • Perform audits on existing inventory to ensure vault integrity.

  • Check in shipment from document provided by shipper or generated by Vault Manager, match pre-advised inventory detail to physical inventory

  • Complete necessary, audit- compliant paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments

  • Prepare shipments of precious metal to be sent out of facility, using allocation report (or other)

  • Physically distribute individual precious metals to conform to customer requests and/or exchange warrants

  • Coordinate and work directly with Global Services supervisory and ops staff

  • Ensure that all forms and packages are handled appropriately

  • Assist with projects as necessary

  • Provide security by adhering to the General Security regulations

  • Work between BGS Precious Metal Vault locations as business dictates

  • W ork a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required

  • P erform other duties as assigned or necessary

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience and/or related industry experience processing shipments/working in a fast paced logistics environment.

  • Demonstrated PC proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Minimum of 21 years of age

  • A valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements

  • A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds on a consistent basis t hroughout the assigned work day

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the f reight or security transportation b usiness

  • Experience providing e fficient and accurate c ustomer services for import/export customers.

  • Experience in banking handling currency or working in an environment where high value liability is managed/stored.

    Professional Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented.

  • Good customer service skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Analytical problem solving
