DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Process Technology Engineer

The Industrial Coatings Group is hiring a Process Technology Engineer to join our dynamic team! In this role you will become a full site process engineer in the North America's region for PPG. This position resides at the Springdale R&D facility in the Process Technology Group within the dispersion lab. You will be working with media mills, high speed dispersers/mixers, rotor stators and testing equipment. You will learn to excel in dispersion theory, mill operations, formulation/rheology, process optimization, understanding of equipment options, capabilities for manufacturing, processing modeling tools for plant application including mixing and thermodynamics, and process analytical technologies (Driving real time data analysis).

In this role you will have the opportunity to learn and work with multiple product portfolios across the sites in the Americas region. You will also get assigned a green belt project supporting a mfg. site driving cost, quality, and safety.

You will work onsite at the Springdale, PA facility and report to the Group Leader-Process Technology.

Responsibilities: * Scale-up of products for development and/or production. * Safely operate, prepare, and maintain the equipment in the dispersion lab. * Safely handle typical paint raw materials in the dispersion lab. * Able to independently work alone and/or with team members to plan/coordinate/complete project tasks and assignments including the writing of summary reports. * Basic engineering, troubleshooting, dispersion, mechanical and chemistry skills for problem solving tasks. * Learn process modeling tools and support site engineers with training in modeling tool use. * Learn and support introduction of process analytical technologies to manufacturing facilities. * Record and document processing/testing data in an Electronic Notebook for all projects. * Focus on improvement opportunities for both development and existing products. * Manage projects to achieve best practice and return to standard work practices. * Maintain/improve workplace organization(6S) and housekeeping.

Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required * Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred * Mechanical acuity preferred.
