Job Title: Medical Assistant Front and Back OfficeJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Medical Assistant to join our team, responsible for both front and back office duties. You will utilize Medent as the EMR for patient records and assist with a variety of tasks to ensure smooth office operations and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients as they arrive, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.

  • Manage the appointment calendar, schedule patient visits, and coordinate with medical staff availability.

  • Handle incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate personnel, and address patient inquiries.

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.

  • Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.

  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.

  • Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.

  • Assist with minor surgical procedures, wound care, and administering medications.

  • Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records.

  • Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.

  • Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.

  • Work with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Medent.

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced front office setting.

  • High volume patient care experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification preferred, but not required (expired certifications accepted).

  • Strong multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

The primary location for this role is in Sparta, with occasional travel to other offices in Morristown, Randolph, Hackettstown, Newton, and Cedar Knolls for PTO coverage or when appointments are light in Sparta. Work hours are Monday to Friday, with one weekend per quarter (Saturday and Sunday). Shifts start between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM, working 8-hour shifts, and one evening shift per week from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Weekends involve 4-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. You will be working in very busy offices, handling 20-40 patients a day depending on the provider.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
