We are currently looking for a Finished Goods Planning Supervisor in Dayton, NJ. This position is responsible for 3 shifts of operation, Monday through Friday, 24/5. The duties of the Finished Goods Planning Supervisor require primarily day shift coverage between the hours of 7:30am – 4:00pm with the understanding that certain days will require a presence during off-shift hours.

You Will Spend Your Time...

  • Supporting the Finished Goods Planners in their scheduling strategy while minimizing scheduling constraint issues and meeting customer requested ship date per technology.

  • Understanding the working knowledge of the Finished Goods Planners and Process Control Clerks from releasing, printing shop floor papers, delivery noting and printing labels to provide proper support when needed.

  • Reviewing email communications to/from customer service, raw material planning, QC, other interdepartmental planners and supervisors/managers for any changes affecting customer orders, safety stock, replenishments, intermediate makes and equipment issues.

  • Communicating high impact material shortages to Raw Material Planning and Customer Service immediately upon discovery to resolve.

  • Investigating with Raw Material Planning, Process Engineering, Quality Control and Creative, for use of substitute raw materials in formulas where the BOM's raw materials are not available.

  • Ensuring all distressed inventory with QC approved bulk-off percentage is blended into new batches by the team to reduce or eliminate financial loss.

  • Reviewing OTP reports, identifying root causes for late order reason codes and coordinating with supporting departments to minimize risk of lates.

  • Reporting monthly production volumes and schedule availability to operations team.

  • Developing team for future advancement by understanding potential career paths for individuals climbing the corporate ladder or pursuing lateral roles.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and/or related work experience in material, production or operations planning within a supply chain environment.

  • 2-5 years' experience in finished goods production planning and logistics.

  • Prior management experience is preferred.

    Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of SAP, SD, MM, PP modules or other ERP systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal and presentation) within all levels of an organization.

  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, critical thinking multi-tasking with attention to details and following up.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team of 10 people.
