Actalent Phlebotomist in Somerville, New Jersey
Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description
Seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to efficiently handle patient information and blood draw requests using an internal computer system. The ideal candidate will perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge and process samples, and ensure specimen integrity during transport. Responsibilities include explaining venipuncture and specimen collection procedures to patients, fully understanding physician orders, and complying with OSHA and DEP regulations. This role requires answering calls, reading lab results, and attending annual trainings.
Hard Skills
6+ months phlebotomy experience
Ability to process/centrifuge independently
Experience with internal medicine, urgent care or patient service centers
Proficient with computer data entry
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to follow detailed protocols
Flexibility with shift changes
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey.
Work Environment
Urgent care setting with 5-20 draws per day. The candidate will process samples independently and must be proficient with centrifuging. Shifts are primarily Mon-Fri 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM with potential variations based on urgent care needs. Open availability as the urgent care operates 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM.
