Job Duties: Use hand tools, such as step ladders, straight ladders (up to 16 feet), shovels, hoes, tampers, pole saws, chain saws, pruning shears, stem clippers, and knives. Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest nursery trees, and apple tree fruits. Manually weed, till soil, transplant trees. Prune fruit trees, hand thin fruits. Harvest apple tree fruits. Apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilizer to fruit trees. Clean, pack and load harvested products. Repair/maintain fences and farm buildings. Construct trellis systems, set up and operate irrigation lines and equipment, install drainage tile in ditches. Operate tractors, forklifts, tractor drawn machinery and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, prune/trim fruit trees, spray and harvest crops. Perform some light maintenance and cleaning of farm vehicles, implements, and equipment. Such as checking fluid levels, tires, pressure washing, etc. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Perform other various farm tasks/duties, such as using a wood splitter, repair wooden bins using an air nail tool, or any other necessary tasks.
