Work Schedule

For Fall, one in person section of SCI 101 is expected to be scheduled for MW10-11:40am and two additional sections of asynchronous online SCI 101 will also be scheduled.

5 office hours over 3 days

Schedule for spring has yet to be determined.

The times and modality of the SCI101 class session are subject to change.

Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a temporary Instructor in the Biology Department. This instructor will teach three sections of the non-majors course, Science of Life ( SCI 101), in the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

Minimum Qualifications

Master of Science in biology, or commensurate training (for example, certified clinical laboratory scientist, physical therapist, physician assistant, masters of science education, etc). Commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.

Preferred Qualifications

Past experience teaching at the university level, specifically non-majors introductory biology courses.
