Lowe's Operations Supervisor - Fulfillment Center in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania

What You Will Do

The Operations Supervisor is accountable for supervising a high performing team responsible for handling product safely, efficiently, and effectively as it moves through the facility. When monitoring production volume, the Operations Supervisor assigns Operations Associates to tasks involving receiving, put away, picking, or shipping product or supporting tasks. The Operations Supervisor must respond quickly to changing workflow conditions and contribute positively to the facility’s key performance indicators. This person must be able to mentor and build a culture of safety among Associates to achieve a safe working environment.

Responsibility Statements

•Ensure all Associates comprehend and execute safe practices.

•Monitor Associate performance; ensure Associates are executing assigned tasks accurately and as scheduled.

•Monitor staffing needs for shift and adjust work to be accomplished on the shift according to available resources and skill sets.

•Mentor and build relationships with Associates; record planned encounters; complete annual review.

•Conduct shift briefing, including safety topics, upcoming events and demand for the day.

•Expedite receiving, picking and shipping of orders to meet customer promise.

•Communicate effectively with Associates regarding business objectives or current issues

•Set Associates up for success; achieve or exceed key performance indicators, safety, performance and budget targets; record daily performance metrics.

•Complete all incident reports of product damaged in-house and associate injuries.

•Promote safety in the work place; complete safety observations

•Discuss and resolve issues with Team Members or issues between Team Members

•Prepare Team Members for upward promotion if interested

•Direct resolution to equipment issues (for example, replace failed equipment or contact Maintenance)

•Identify and assist in implementing process improvements.

•Respond to incidents or injuries with first aid (as trained)

What you Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

•High School Diploma or GED

•2 years of demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience; successfully manages multiple tasks simultaneously

•Proven record of complying with safety requirements, and experience building a culture of safety among subordinates and peers.

•Demonstrated team-building skills and ability to build rapport with others

•Experience and willingness to mentor and coach others

•Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts among team members

•Approaches change optimistically; adjusts quickly and proficiently to changing work environments

•Analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems; creative problem-solving

•Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Access

•Demonstrated track record of good attendance

•Communicates and listens effectively

Preferred Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree - Supply Chain management, Business, Transportation or other related field.

•2 years of distribution operations experience in a large volume, automated distribution center environment

•Familiarity with e-Commerce fulfillment center operations; previous DC experience

•Critical thinking, oral, written communication and computer skills

•Willing to relocate to future opportunities
