DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Sr. Engineer with Manitowoc Cranes, you will be responsible to independently carry out moderately complex projects from start to finish.  You must be a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of assigned area in order to plan, direct, coordinate and control the engineering effort directly related to the assigned area of responsibility or special assignment.  You will also assist the manager in coordinating and controlling group activities as required. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Engineering and is in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  * Extensive experience with new concept design and documentation of large steel weldments and assemblies.  Prepare concept sketches, layouts, detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Material, and Specification documents as required.  * Application of advanced welding processes in designs.  * Experience writing structural test requests.  * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanisms and perform forensic reviews of structural failures.  * Fundamental knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.  * Plan, direct and control engineering effort directly related to assigned projects, including establishing program criteria, planning & scheduling, production issues, field issues, and testing.  * Work with suppliers to validate product designs that meet Manitowoc specifications.     * Prepare project development criteria in accordance with management objectives.  * Maintain close contact and coordinate activities with other groups within the product Engineering Department.    * Assist other departments in preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects.    * Supervise work of assigned resources including internal or external contractors. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:  * Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience engineering equipment or in a related industry.     * Creo 7 and Windchill is preferred.  * ANSYS 2023 R2 experience is a plus.  * Experience with off-highway/construction equipment a plus.  * PE License is beneficial.  * Normal office environment.  Occasional visit to job site, test yard or factory with focus on safe working practices.  * Good communication skills required, including the ability to interface with other cultures.   * Must be able to work independently with a strong work ethic and proven track record of project execution are required.

PAY GRADE: 207  * Minimum: $78,046.80  * Midpoint: $99,509.28  * Maximum: $120,972.80
